Actor, singer, storyteller, husband, father. In 2021, Aaron Lazar was diagnosed with ALS. Rather than accept the limits of that diagnosis, he chose to pursue a different kind of role—one focused on hope, science, and impact.

From One Story to a Research Platform

What began with Aaron's personal experience and public Impossible Dream evolved into a research platform when Aaron joined forces with entrepreneur Brett Goldberg, early strategic supporter Mark Cuban, and a growing network of scientists, clinicians, and data partners who believed that lived experience and rigorous data science should inform one another.

Aaron is diagnosed with ALS.

Aaron publicly announces his diagnosis and creates the Impossible Dream platform.

2025

Impossible Dream Machine is founded by Aaron Lazar and Brett Goldberg, with early backing from Mark Cuban.

2026

IDM commences Phase 3 of its ALS research program.
